Sculpture part 2

Now that classes are over I can paint my sculptures fun colors.

My professor said we had to do a final that had something to do with figures. I decided to experiment with the human heart. I also wanted the piece to have a haunting feeling.

These are a few images of sculptures that I made in my Sculpture class during my senior year at the New Hampshire Institute of art. I really enjoy sculpting the human figure. I enjoy sculpting woman a lot more than sculpting men because men are very angular forms and woman are very soft and curvy.

I just took this picture because it looked cool.

This is a picture of all the sculptures in my class.

This is the model we had named Margeret. My sculpture looks nothing like her.

This is a sculpture of the model we had named Gene.

This is the destruction that happened after finishing the sculpture because the evidence of its existence had to be demolished plus my professor wanted us to reuse the armature for another sculpture.

In my figure sculpture class at college we were given an assignment to make a cast out of your hand or foot. I chose to make a cast of my hand. Then I filled the cast with plaster so when the plaster dried I removed the cast and had an exact replica of my hand. Then we were told to do five sketches of the hand from different angles. After the sketches were done we had to sculpt the hand with plasticine. I think this was a really great way to study hands.
